At 38, Daniël embodies the authentic spirit of Hotel Kapitán. A former sea captain from Rotterdam, he took over this family business in 2012 and has poured his heart into creating something truly special.

After years managing the hotel remotely while pursuing his maritime career, Daniël made the life-changing decision in 2024 to return to Seč full-time. True to his Rotterdam mentality of "niet lullen, maar poetsen" (don't just talk, get to work), he's been hands-on with every aspect of the hotel's renovation.

This isn't a corporate chain or faceless hospitality group. When you stay at Hotel Kapitán, you're welcomed into Daniël's vision of genuine, down-to-earth hospitality where every guest is treated like family.
